Ivan Escobar: Post-Construction Cleaning Superintendent

With five years of dedicated service under his belt, Ivan Escobar has become a cornerstone of the Post-Construction Cleaning (PCC) department. As a Field Foreman and Superintendent, Ivan describes his role as doing “a thousand things,” a testament to the high-energy, multifaceted nature of the construction industry. From the first light of dawn to the final walkthrough, Ivan’s primary focus is ensuring that every project is transitioned from a dusty job site to a pristine, client-ready facility.

A Day in the Life

Ivan’s day begins long before the first crew arrives on-site. His commitment to excellence starts the evening prior, coordinating schedules and communicating with workers to ensure a seamless start the next morning. By the time the workday officially begins, Ivan has already overseen the preparation of the fleet and verified that all vehicles are stocked with the specialized equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) necessary for the day’s tasks.

Once in the field, Ivan’s leadership is defined by his hands-on approach. While he manages supervisors and oversees the entire PCC department, he is never one to stay behind a desk.

"When they're in trouble, I get my hands dirty and I become one of them," Ivan explains. "I'm just like them. And we’ve got a good relationship because of that."

This "lead by example" philosophy has fostered a culture of deep trust and mutual respect between Ivan and his crews.

Expertise and Scale

Under Ivan’s supervision, the PCC department handles a diverse portfolio of projects, specializing in everything from remodeling cleanups to massive new construction sites. His expertise covers "top to bottom" cleaning, including specialized floor care and window detailing. Ivan has successfully managed cleaning operations across various sectors, including:

• Public Services: Schools and libraries.
• Commercial: Restaurants and Target locations.
• Healthcare: Hospitals requiring high standards of cleanliness.

One of the most notable highlights of Ivan’s career was overseeing the deep cleaning of the Walmart Distribution Center in Menominee, Wisconsin. This massive undertaking involved a comprehensive cleaning of walls, ceilings, and floors across a staggering one million square feet of space.
